Hulu Acquires Exclusive Rights To ‘Golden Girls’, Unveils ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Teaser

Hulu is adding to its war chest. The platform has acquired exclusive streaming rights to classic sitcom The Golden Girls as well as ABC’s Emmy and Golden Globe-winning Black-ish, which is currently in its third season.

Golden Girls will be available on Feb. 13, Hulu’s SVP and head of content, Craig Erwich, told reporters at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour last week. This marks the first time that all seven seasons of the show will be available to stream in one place, AdWeek reports. Moreover, Hulu said it would stream the full-length episodes of The Golden Girls that originally aired on NBC, and not the edited versions that ran in syndication.

The whip smart 80s series stars Bea Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty as four friends in their golden years. It joins another comedy classic, Seinfeld, that is also exclusive to Hulu’s airwaves. Last month, Hulu added roughly 50 films to its ever-growing library through an exclusive deal with Walt Disney Studios.
