Eva Gutowski To Release First Book, ‘The Struggle Is Real’, Next Valentine’s Day

Eva Gutowski, one of YouTube’s biggest lifestyle creators and the forthcoming star of a YouTube Red series titled Me And My Grandma alongside sitcom legend Rhea Perlman, has just shared her latest venture: her first-ever book titled My Life As Eva: The Struggle Is Real.

Published by Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, and hitting shelves next Valentine’s Day, the book will chronicle funny moments in Gutowski’s life, including “living on a diet of ramen noodles (and the occasional lucky maple poptart), to getting dumped not one — not two, but three times in high school,” according to a description on the tome’s official website. My Life As Eva is currently available for preorder.

Within minutes of announcing the book on Twitter, #MyLifeAsEvaBook became a top trending topic, and the site for the book crashed. “After over a year of writing, flying to random places, designing, shooting, and creating, this book is finally yours to see,” Gutowski shared on Instagram. “So excited to see you guys on the book tour.”

Other YouTube stars to venture into or expand their presence within the publishing industry recently include MyCupcakeAddiction host Elise Strachan, who recently released her very own cookbook; Vine standout Zach King, who landed a three-book deal with Harper Collins with the film rights for the first book going to Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment; and Hannah Hart, whose second book, Buffering, debuted at #4 on the New York Times Best Sellers List.

Gutowski, who also appeared in Joey Graceffa’s YouTube Red murder mystery series, Escape The Night, will play an aspiring actress seeking to make her way in Hollywood in the forthcoming Me And My Grandma, which is set to premiere on the subscription service next year. Gutowski, who counts roughly 8.5 million subscribers and 600 million lifetime views across two YouTube channels, also came out as bisexual in September via social media.
