Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson To Broadcast Finale Of Fuse TV Series On Facebook Live

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who continues to be something of a digital pioneer, has announced a rather boundary-breaking means of concluding his Fuse television show, Clash Of The Corps.

Tomorrow night, Johnson will premiere the first part of the season finale of the show, chronicling the competitive world of marching bands, on his official Facebook page, which counts more than 57 million fans. The live stream kicks off tomorrow evening at 8 p.m. ET., and the second part of the season finale will debut on Fuse TV on Nov. 16 at 11 a.m. ET. In the finale, two of the most historically successful marching band corps,  The Cadets and the Blue Devils, will compete for the World Championship title, according to Fuse.

“Tapping into the millions of Dwayne Johnson fans via Facebook Live is a terrific way to attract new viewers to this series and to Fuse,” said the network’s president and CEO, Michael Schwimmer, in a statement. “We are very proud of Clash Of The Corps and its success in reaching new audiences across all platforms.”

Fuse piloted a similar strategy for the series’ rollout in October, where the debut episode reached more than 7 million people, according to the network, including more than 70,000 engagements and over 830,000 video views — 750,000 of which occurred within the broadcast’s first 24 hours of going live.

In addition to Facebook, Johnson, a semi-retired professional wrestler-turned-mainstream actor, is continuing to build his digital presence on YouTube through Seven Bucks Digital Studios, his production company, and leading multi-channel network Studio71. Johnson launched a YouTube channel alongside a bevy of popular creators including Lilly Singh, Markiplier, and Roman Atwood over the summer, and Seven Bucks is also slated to produce a series for YouTube Red titled Lifeline, about a group of insurance agents who are sent into the future in order to prevent the accidental deaths of their clients.
