BroadbandTV To Manage Univision’s 16 YouTube Channels, All Fan-Uploaded Content

Multi-platform network BroadbandTV (BBTV) has announced today a pact with Univision Communications — the leading media company serving Hispanic America — by which BBTV will manage all of Univision Digital’s 16 premium YouTube channels, as well as all fan-uploaded content.

BBTV will provide content management services for popular Mexican dramas like La Rosa De Guadalupe and Como Dice El Dicho, according to a release, as well as the Spanish-language news show Primer Impacto. “The growing Hispanic demographic has huge potential,” said BBTV founder and CEO Shahrzad Rafati in a statement, “and it will remain a strategic focus for BBTV as we continue to expand our business and global operations.”

Adds Univision’s SVP of digital, Sameer Deen: “Univision’s YouTube video views have increased this year — our goal is to grow these views and BroadbandTV helps us to strategically amplify content and build stronger engagement with our digital audience.”

BBTV, which says it claims 250,000 fan-uploaded videos for its clients every month using end-to-end proprietary technology, also manages content for fellow entertainment giants like the NBA, Warner Brothers, Viacom, Sony Pictures, FremantleMedia, and more. BBTV says it is the largest MPN in the world, with 85,000 total creators that generate 18.2 billion impressions per month. During the first half of 2016, BBTV said it was the third largest video property in the world — in terms of unique viewers — behind only Google and Facebook.
