#SaveMarinaJoyce: Fans Fear 19-Year-Old Vlogger Is In Danger Amid Puzzling Behavior

In what may be one of the most bizarre and concerning trending topics to emerge about a YouTube influencer, fans of London-based fashion vlogger Marina Joyce are worried that the 19-year-old is in grave danger. Yesterday, the hashtag #SaveMarinaJoyce exploded across Twitter as Joyce’s strange behavior in recent videos has led some to suspect that she was kidnapped by ISIS, or her boyfriend, and being forced to create videos against her will. Others have surmised that she is suffering from schizophrenia or addicted to drugs.

Some of the most disturbing signs that something is amiss, reports Refinery29, include a shotgun perched against Joyce’s nightstand during a recent makeup tutorial, and several bruises spotted by fans on her body in various pictures and videos. Perhaps most terrifying of all, though, is that Joyce appears to whisper the words ‘Help me’ during her most recent Date Outfit Ideas video (below). In another recent Q&A clip, she also appears to speak with a manic affect and occasionally glances off camera with a scared look.

The #SaveMarinaJoyce hashtag has inspired a slew of Internet detectives, and a thorough account of recent suspicious activity is available right here. Joyce initially invited fans to a meet-up at 6:30 a.m. tomorrow — which many prominent creators cautioned fans not to attend for fear it could be a terrorist attack, or dangerous trap. Joyce, who has amassed nearly 1 million subscribers — thanks in so small part to the recent controversies — has since rescheduled the meet-up for Saturday.

The clamor on social media became so great that local police visited Joyce at home to confirm that “She is safe and well.”

Earlier today, Joyce hosted a live YouNow broadcast to ensure fans that all was okay — though it ended up doing little to quell concerns. Joyce explained that she had gotten into an accident but couldn’t reveal what the bruises on her body were from. She also denied saying the words ‘Help me’ in her most recent video, noted that the gun in her bedroom was her mom’s BB gun, and continued to encourage viewers to attend the meet-up event this weekend. “I’m TOTALLY fine, guys,” she tweeted as speculation raged on. “I am feeling very good today and it’s actually so heartwarming to see so many people care about me.”
