Tubefilter: How does it feel to have one million subscribers? What would you like to say to your fans?

Collins Key: I am humbled to be at 1.1 million subscribers and SO GRATEFUL to all of my fans. It is amazing how fast the Keyper family has grown. One of my favorite parts of the Keyper family is that although the fan base has grown a lot, everyone is still really close.

TF: How, if at all, does producing magic videos for YouTube differ from producing it for other mediums?

CK: There are a lot of fun and interactive things I can do on YouTube that are not necessarily possible on other platforms.

TF: What’s the weirdest reaction you’ve ever received after performing magic for someone?

CK: Matthew Espinosa jumping onto on a table and having a full body seizure. Thankfully the seizure wasn’t real, but the crazy reaction was.

TF: What would you say is the most pervasive misconception about magic?

CK: That magic can only be presented as dark or creepy.

TF: What do you hope your viewers will take away from your collaboration with AT&T’s Hello Lab?

CK: I am so excited to share a different side of my magic and of myself. I really think my fans are going to love it!

TF: What was the most important thing you learned from your time on America’s Got Talent?

CK: To trust myself. There were many times I was encouraged to do magic in a way that I didn’t feel would engage the audience. In all the magic I do, engaging with people and having them feel a part of it all is really important to me.

TF: You’ve been releasing some DIY videos lately. How do you choose the DIY projects to share on your channel?

CK: I am really new to DIY videos, so I pick anything that looks fun and that I can have a good time messing around with.

TF: You seem to be a fan of recently-launched apps like musical.ly and live.me. What intrigues you about those platforms?

CK: I always like bringing my magic to new and creative places. I really enjoy connecting with my fans anywhere I can.

TF: What’s next for your channel? Any fun plans?

CK: The most exciting thing coming up on my channel is the AT&T Hello Lab project. I am also doing two videos a week and have some exciting collabs with other YouTubers coming up.
