Jimmy Kimmel Invites Mamrie Hart, Lohanthony And Other Creators To Read ‘Mean Tweets’

Jimmy Kimmel has had a somewhat contentious relationship with certain members of the YouTube community in the past. But this week, ahead of VidCon, the late night host paid tribute to digital stars by inviting a handful to participate in his much-beloved Mean Tweets series, where celebrities read insults lobbed at them by angry commenters on Twitter.

Dubbed the Creator Edition, the clip features Smosh, Lilly Singh, Markiplier, and more, and several of the participants — clearly schooled in the art of trolling — are armed with quick-witted comebacks. When an angry tweeter tells Singh, aka Superwoman, that “ur videos was worst,” she deadpans, “Well, your English was worster.”

The video, posted on Thursday to coincide with the kickoff of VidCon, already counts more than 1.5 million views. Kimmel has 8 million subscribers on his channel, and has released countless viral videos, including I Told My Kids I Ate All Their Halloween Candy and I Gave My Kids A Terrible Present. That said, Mean Tweets seems to be the most frequently popular series — with different versions for sports, music, and even a video starring President Obama.
