Season Eight Of Jerry Seinfeld’s ‘Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee’ To Premiere June 16th

After seven seasons and 47 episodes, Jerry Seinfeld has rode in cars and drank coffee with dozens of the world’s most famous comedy minds (and one sitting US President to boot). Now, in his web series’ eighth season, he’ll add to that tally thanks to a fresh crop of guests. Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee will return to Crackle on June 16th, with six new episodes slated to hang out with the former Seinfeld star.

The six funny people who will join Seinfeld in season eight of his web series are Margaret Cho, Lorne Michaels, Jim Gaffigan, John Oliver, JB Smoove, and Judd Apatow. They’ll each get a chance to ride with Seinfeld in an over-the-top classic car, trade bits with him, and join him for some coffee and food. As seen in a trailer posted by Crackle, the new episodes will retain the laid-back, chatty style that has allowed Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee to become a successful series, while still leaving some room for improvisation.

Crackle itself has undergone a fair amount of change in recent years, but Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee has remained its best-known series. Seinfeld’s series is now closing in on its ninth season, which will be the last one guaranteed by a 2014 renewal deal. After that run, the show’s future is uncertain, though there is still plenty of time for new seasons to be approved should Seinfeld and Crackle wish to continue producing them. In the meantime, season eight promises more comedians, more cars, more coffee, and — we can only hope — more laughs.
