We’re down to the final five teams on this social-media-star studded season of The Amazing Race. From the original 11 teams, we’re now down to #Torey, Team Rooster Teeth, The Dancers, Frisbee Boys, and Team Family Time. The leg in this tenth episode of the season also featured the dreaded Double U-Turn, where teams can force another team to have to perform both Detour tasks, hopefully slowing them down. There was actually a U-Turn in an earlier leg, but none of the teams ended up using it, so it was edited out of the episode. At this point, though, teams don’t have the luxury of being nice…

…and speaking of no longer being nice, before the episode even began, fans were giving some gentle ribbing to Team Rooster Teeth on the fact that they keep coming in second place.

But Burnie Burns, ever the optimist, was there to turn lemons into lemonade:

And he issued a challenge to his supporters:

Not to be outdone, Tyler was pushing a hashtag of his own…

Who will win this epic hashtag-off? Keep reading to find out!

He’s a Person Monkey!

At the end of the last leg, teams arrived at a pirate-like ship, on which they then spend the night. The next morning, they travel to one of Indonesia’s many, many, and we mean many (as Phil’s voiceover lets us know, it would take 50 years to visit them all) islands. A boat takes teams to Nusa Lembongan, where they have to snorkel to find clues inside boxes in the ocean. Some teams assume the underwater clues will look like all the other clues do, but they don’t. They’re inside inside cylindrical tubes instead…a fact that confuses and slows down a couple teams. And, you guessed it, causes a fight between Dana and Matt.

Here are Dana and Matt, pictured on a boat either in between or during a fight.

From here, teams head to the Pura Puseh Stairway where they have to put on sarongs and find a dancing monkey. Cole in particular is very excited about meeting a monkey, as exotic animals are definitely not the kinds of things he often gets a chance to encounter in his small town. So, you can imagine his disappointment when he finds out the monkey is just a dancing guy in a monkey suit, or as Cole puts it, “He’s not a real monkey, he’s a person monkey.” He’s also kind of a jerk person monkey, too, as he would tease teams with the clue and then make them chase him further up the stairs before finally handing it over.

Teams then head to the #Detour (they weren’t even trying for interesting hashtags this episode, so obvious ones are all you’re gonna get this week) for this leg of the race, which is a choice between Harvest and Haul. In Harvest, teams have to get in stand-up boats and float through a marked course to harvest baskets of seaweed and then layout said seaweed on a large tarp to dry. Once they cover the entire tarp and are approved by a local seaweed farmer, they get their next clue. In Haul, teams have to deliver four chickens and 50 coconuts across the Ceningan Bridge to get their next clue.

Cole. Has. Got. This.

Cole. Has. Got. This.

For the first time this season, all the teams pick the same Detour and no one ends up switching. Everyone does Haul. Guess we won’t get to see what Harvest is all about…or will we?!? (Cue maniacal laugh.)

Teams that got started first had an advantage with the chickens because some were easier to grab than others. Oddly enough, Dana is actually pretty chill (I mean, she still yells at Matt a lot, but it’s tame compared to the Evil Incarnate Dana we usually see) and though she will only carry one chicken at a time, she’s very kind to them. Apparently Dana respects chickens more than significant others. Meanwhile, the Frisbee Boys actually struggle a lot with the coconuts because they are sweaty and it’s making the coconuts slippery.

Here are where teams landed at the end of the Detour (everyone did Haul) on the way to the dreaded Double U-Turn:

  1. #Torey
  2. Team Rooster Teeth
  3. Frisbee Boys
  4. Team Family Team
  5. The Dancers

To U-Turn or Not to U-Turn

Teams now head to Warung Sunrise to get their next clue…and have a shot at using the Double U-Turn. #Torey gets there first and Tyler immediately wants to use the first U-Turn on Frisbee Boys because they are a huge threat if they make it to the final. Korey hesitates but goes ahead and lets Tyler do it. They then grab a clue that tells them to head to the Pande Curly Paddleboard Shop.

The next thing we see is Korey and Tyler in a taxi and Korey has a very pensive look on his face. Tyler questions him on whether he thinks they made a mistake and Korey points out that if Frisbee Boys are the next to get to the U-Turn board, they will be able to U-Turn one of the teams behind them. That will theoretically allow the Frisbee Boys to get ahead of that team. #Torey‘s only hope of nullifying the Frisbee Boys threat is if Team Rooster Teeth gets to the board first and U-Turns #Torey. That’s because U-turning a team that is already past the U-turn board makes the U-turn void. It would essentially burn that U-turn and make it so Frisbee Bros is the only team U-turned.

Luckily for everyone who are anti Frisbee Boys, this is exactly what Team Rooster Teeth does. And they are very lucky Team Family Time didn’t get to that board first because Sheri and Cole didn’t even understand how to read the dang thing. Frisbee Boys discover they are the only ones U-turned and head back to do Harvest (we do get to see how it works!) and hope they are blast through it and make up the time…

Cole Better Jump

All teams but Frisbee Boys now race to the Paddleboard Shop to take on their #RoadBlock for this leg of the race. Teams assume it probably has something to do with actual paddleboarding or swimming of some kind, so without even thinking about it, Team Family Time decides Cole should do this one.

But much to the horror of Cole, this Road Block has nothing to do with paddleboarding. It’s something much, much worse…teams have to climb up a very sheer cliff and cliff dive into Blue Lagoon. You may remember back to leg five of the race, where teams were high up in the snowy mountains…and Cole was TERRIFIED. Sherri instantly regrets their decision.

#Torey and Team Rooster Teeth are concerned as well…because if Cole freezes up on that cliff, it gives Frisbee Boys  an opportunity to catch up. But Tyler doesn’t have too much time to be concerned, as he’s getting stretched by a very attractive cliff dive instructor. Also, Korey finds out from Burnie that the quest to only U-turn Frisbee Boys was indeed a success. So, if Cole can only get through this jump, everything should go according to plan…

…I could try to draw out this suspense but Cole totally jumps and honestly, really doesn’t seem to have a problem with it. Go Cole! Here are the standings upon completion of the Road Block:

  1. Tyler – #Torey
  2. Ashley – Team Rooster Teeth
  3. Cole (!!!) – Team Family Time
  4. Matt – The Dancers
  5. Brodie – Frisbee Boys

Bonus: Here is a picture Tyler posted of the aftermath of his cliff dive. Hope that hot instructor gave him some first aid for that.

#Blodie Lives!

With the fear of Cole not jumping behind them, teams now race to the Pit Stop at the Bajra Sandhi Monument. Team Rooster Teeth can’t get past #Torey in a foot race and come in second. Again. But hey, now they have the record for most second place finishes in a row! That’s something!

Ashely and Burnie doing what they do best. Coming in second place.

Also this:

And this:

If Team Rooster Teeth doesn’t win this thing, they should create a Team Congeniality Award just for them.

  1. #Torey
  2. Team Rooster Teeth
  3. The Dancers (they squeeked by Team Family Time in a foot race)
  4. Team Family Time
  5. Frisbee Boys

And the Frisbee Boys are eliminated. For orchestrating their demise, #Torey and Team Rooster Teeth encourage all the teams to get out of there before the guys show up.

Frisbee Boys, you were too good at the 'Race' for your own good. You will be missed.

But hey, I know what you all are REALLY wondering about…WHAT’S THE STATUS OF #BLODIE! Never fear, Brodie insists that he and Blair will definitely go on a date once this is all over. Love is real!

And of course, I can’t leave you without revealing the results of the hashtag-off…seems the social media is strong for #Torey…

Who do you think will be the three teams that make it to the final? How proud are you guys of Cole mastering his fears and making that jump? And most imporantly, what should #Blodie do for their date???
