New Tool From Tech Company Paladin Helps MCNs Search For Undiscovered Creators

Thousands of YouTube channels, including most of the video site’s popular destinations, are partnered with multi-channel networks, which provide the creators they serve with channel management services, money-making opportunities, and other perks. Despite the saturated nature of MCN industry and the long rosters maintained by some networks, there are still many unheralded creators who are still independent.

Paladin is looking to change that. The new tech company, which was spun off from the Bent Pixels MCN, has announced its launch, and its most interesting offering is Talent Locator, a tool that lets its users search for and recruit unsigned channel owners.

The Talent Locator tool comes equipped with several filters, so that Paladin’s MCN clients can hone in on creators within certain countries, languages, content categories, and channel age ranges, among other options. The service then outputs a list, which its users can use to contact and roster new creative partners.

Beyond its Talent Locator, Paladin is offering several other services to its MCN clients, including a network management suite and a rights management tool that complements Content ID. “When we started developing software in-house to make the administration of our MCN easier, we had no idea that it would become the industry standard and that creating an independent technology company would be the next step,” said Mike Pusateri, Bent Pixels’ Founder and CEO, in a press release. “We’re enormously proud of the people and products that have become Paladin Software.”

While Paladin is a new company, it has already put together a strong group of partners in the MCN industry. Networks already allied with it include AwesomenessTV, Studio71, DEFY Media, and Frederator Networks, which combine to serve thousands of channels on YouTube. Thanks to Talent Locator and Paladin’s other tools, those companies now have an opportunity to extend their reach even further.
