In February, the first four YouTube Red originals arrived, giving subscribers to YouTube’s ad-free subscription service access to exclusive content from the site’s biggest stars. Now, as March draws to a close, two more YouTube Red originals are available. Users who pay for a $9.99-per-month subscription can view Prank Academy, led by PrankVsPrank, and Foursome, starring Jenn McAllister and Logan Paul.
Prank Academy, which was revealed as a YouTube Red original back when the service first launched, is also one of the YouTube-funded series announced in April 2015. It stars Jesse and Jeana, the couple behind the PrankVsPrank YouTube channel (which has close to ten million subscribers), as they stage some of the biggest stunts of their digital media career. Along the way, they’ll join forces with their fellows in the YouTube community. The Prank Academy trailer teases appearances from FunForLouis, Joey Graceffa, and Lilly Singh. Wellens has also pledged that the pranks for the show will be available even to viewers who don’t subscribe to YouTube Red.
The other new YouTube Red series, Foursome, comes from AwesomenessTV, which has been a close partner of YouTube’s premium subscription service. The teen-focused network’s film division released Dance Camp as part of the first wave of Red originals, and it will later bring another film, We Love You, to the service as well. Foursome stars McAllister and Paul — both of whom have strong followings on social media — as a pair of siblings who navigate the complex world of high-school romance.
YouTube Red is available in the US and Canada. It will arrive in other territories at a later date.
