YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki Joins Lineup Of Speakers At 2015 VidCon

YouTube has often used the annual VidCon convention as an opportunity to discuss upcoming initiatives and innovations, and sure enough, the video site’s top dog will return to Anaheim in 2015. VidCon has confirmed that YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki will deliver a keynote address as part of the event’s Industry Track.

Last year, Wojcicki presented during VidCon’s Industry Day. Many of the upcoming features she discussed, such as fan funding, card-style annotations, and high frame rates, have since debuted for YouTube users. This year, Industry Day has evolved in an entire “Track” that will take place throughout the VidCon weekend and will run parallel to creator-focused events on the second floor and community-focused meetups on the first floor.

“I was a big advocate of Google’s acquisition of YouTube back in 2006 when the platform was just a year old,” said Wojcicki. “Now that we’re celebrating YouTube’s tenth birthday, VidCon is the perfect place to reflect with the community on how far we’ve come, and focus on the future of online video and all the big opportunities that lie ahead.”

In addition to Wojcicki, VidCon also announced Jim Lanzone of CBS Interactive, Ze Frank of BuzzFeed Motion Pictures, Albie Hecht of HLN, Mark Terbeek of Greycroft Partners, and David Beebe of Marriott International as speakers who will present as part of the Industry Track. The annual convention also previously announced keynote addresses from Jason Kilar of Vessel, Baljeet Singh of Twitter, and Zander Lurie of GoPro.

The industry track events will take place on Thursday, July 23rd and Friday, July 24th. Additional VidCon festivities will run through the 25th. A full schedule of events, as well as registration information, can be found on the VidCon website.
