Fullscreen Drops Trailer For O2L Documentary, Acquires Social Media Agency

Fullscreen’s first ever presentation at the Newfronts was filled with news. Among other items, the digital network revealed the first teaser trailer for #O2LFOREVER, a documentary feature that will follow the recent tour of since-disbanded YouTube supergroup Our2ndLife.

The O2L documentary was first announced in June 2014 as the next project from Michael Goldfine, who served as the producer for the film Camp Takota. Goldfine followed O2L as they participated in The Digitour, which took them to cities around the US last summer. The teaser shares some of the footage collected from O2L’s tour appearances.

Several developments have affected the film since it was revealed. O2L has broken up, with its members (all of whom, minus Connor Franta, are partnered with Fullscreen) focusing on their own channels and other collaborative efforts. In addition, Goldfine is now the Chief Content Officer at Fullscreen, and #O2LFOREVER is one of several projects in production at the network’s Fullscreen Films division. The company also plans to produce The Outfield, a comedy film starring social media stars Nash Grier and Cameron Dallas.

Fullscreen’s Newfronts presentation also included news related to its sales team. The network has acquired McBeard Media, a social media agency. McBeard has worked with Fullscreen on social media-fueled projects like @SummerBreak and Snapper Hero, and in fitting form, Fullscreen completed its acquisition of the agency via Snapchat.

The McBeard acquisition will be key for Fullscreen as it continues to create branded content across multiple platforms. “Don’t advertise at us,” Fullscreen CEO George Strompolos told advertisers during his address, “create with us.”

“The McBeard team has mastered the art and science of creating social content that people love to engage with and share,” add Strompolos in a press release. “This acquisition gives Fullscreen and our partners the ability to reach people across every social platform through compelling native content and storytelling at scale. We’re thrilled to welcome Alan, Alec and the McBeard team to Fullscreen.”

Fullscreen did not disclose the financial details of its McBeard deal.
