Netflix Renews ‘Orange Is The New Black’ For A Fourth Season

We’re still about two months away from the return of Orange Is The New Black, but Netflix has already ensured more episodes will follow the upcoming third season. The streaming video on-demand platform has renewed its Emmy-winning dramedy, which will return to the Litchfield Correctional Institution for a fourth season.

Orange Is The New Black follows the daily lives of the inmates and staff at a fictional women’s prison in New York. Since its debut in 2013, it has become one of Netflix’s signature original programs, with both audiences and critics praising its strongly-realized characters. Along the way, OITNB has also picked up awards recognition, including three Emmy Awards and several more nominations at the Golden Globes.

Season three of OITNB, which will introduce a new character portrayed by Ruby Rose, will hit Netflix on June 12th. In advance of the show’s return, Netflix shared an official trailer earlier in April. Now, on the same day it announced the renewal news, the streaming platform also shared a “First Look” clip from the upcoming season:

Season four’s premiere date is not yet known, though if previous OITNB seasons are any indication, we can expect to see new episodes sometime in Spring 2016.
