In April 2014, Dailymotion announced Jump Outs, an unscripted series that pits an elite team of policemen against three groups attempting to evade them. A year later, as first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Jump Outs has arrived as the latest piece of Dailymotion’s original video plans.
The “Jump Out Boys” are elite officers known for their aggressive policing. In the web series, an amulet has been placed in a Long Beach neighborhood, and three teams must retrieve it and bring it home without getting caught. Each team has its own defining characteristic: One is made up of skateboarders, another of parkour athletes, and a third of soccer players. It’s The Amazing Race meets Cops and Robbers.
“We wanted realism to be part of the show,” said Tom Bannister of SXM, which produced the show. “There are a lot of great reality TV shows, but they often feel like people are playing a role. We wanted these guys not to act and just be natural.”

Jump Outs is the second original series from Dailymotion USA, which has also released Mario Batali’s “passion project” Feedback Kitchen. The American wing of the Paris-based online video company once sought to fund up to six series, though details about other projects are not known. At the same time, Dailymotion is reportedly seeking a sale, with fellow French company Vivendi currently pegged as its most likely buyer.
New episodes of Jump Outs will arrive each day until April 21st. The first episode can be viewed below:
