Description: Most of the projects we note in this space are scripted comedies and dramas; not this one. Grow Something is a planned pilot that will explore the topic of sustainable agriculture through the eyes of its host, Jason “Farmer Jay” McCobb.
In Grow Something, McCobb will attempt to build a local food system in South Florida. He will also travel the country to discuss the show’s central topic, in an attempt to educate his viewers about gardening, sustainable living, and healthy eating. “The show will bring a message of hope and empowerment to people who want to take control of their food supply and health,” reads the Grow Something Indiegogo page.
With the $30,000 McCobb and his team hope to raise on Indiegogo, they plan to fund a TV-quality pilot for their show. More information about the project is available in its pitch video:

Why You Should Fund It: McCabe and his team are hoping to turn Grow Something into a show worthy of a place on TV. As part of that goal, they want their program to look like something you might find on HGTV or Bravo, and the pitch video shows they are capable of that level of production. The colors are bright and fresh, Farmer Jay is a true food expert, and his just-folksy-enough demeanor makes him an ideal host.
