Smosh Games Relaunches Its Alliance, Offers New Web Series As Perks

Smosh Games is returning to a program it initially debuted nearly two years ago. The gaming vertical run by Defy Media has re-launched its Smosh Games Alliance, which invites content creators to join a gaming-focused multi-channel network.

Gamers who join the Smosh Games Alliance receive crucial exposure as well as an array of perks and channel optimization tips. At the center of the relaunched version of the Alliance, there are three new web series: Smosh University, which walks viewers through various SGA features; SGA Spotlight, which each week will focus on a specific member of the Alliance; and SGA Live, a weekly live-streamed program.

Each of these shows will be hosted by Smosh Games personality Amra “FLitz” Ricketts, but other members of the Smosh Games team will appear in SGA content as well. For example, the first episode of Smosh University features FLitz and Joshua “Jovenshire” Ovenshire.

A key advantage of the Smosh Games Alliance is the reach of the channel on which it is based. Thanks in large part to the popularity of the Smosh brand, Smosh Games has 5.8 million subscribers and 1.3 billion views, while the re-launched Alliance channel has 68,000 subscribers of its own.

“Smosh Games has built an incredibly engaged and passionate audience of game enthusiasts and with the re-vamped “SGA” we can deepen the relationship with our fans,” said Barry Blumberg, Head of Content at DEFY Media, in a release. “This initiative marks another important extension of the SMOSH brand, which now boasts more than 33 million combined channel subscribers.”

More information about the Smosh Games Alliance can be found on its website.
