PBS Digital Studios has added to its collection of programs with a combination of science and pop culture. The online video wing of the public television broadcaster has debuted Space Time, which frames crazy astrophysics topics in accessible, fun way.
Space Time is sort of a mélange of PBSDS’ other hit shows. The first episode has PBS Idea Channel‘s fast-paced-yet-scholarly tone, Game/Show‘s analytical approach to gaming, and the same astronomical focus as the new Crash Course episodes PBS funded. Across six minutes, host Gabe Perez-Giz calculates the gravitational specifics of the planet from Super Mario Bros, providing both a physics lesson and a fresh take on an old favorite.

For those of us who are fascinated by the mind-blowing realities of astronomical study, Space Time is the perfect series. Still, even for those who don’t spend their days watching Neil deGrasse Tyson videos, PBS’ new web series gives its viewers an added reason to care about space. New episodes will be released each Wednesday.
