Univision’s Flama Brings Five New Original Series To Hulu

Hulu’s content library just got a little bit bigger and a little bit more Latino-friendly. Flama, an over-the-top digital network for young Hispanics owned by media company Univision, has partnered with Hulu to bring five of its original English-language series to the streaming platform.

Under the deal, all episodes of Flama’s originals Taking on America, Drop the Mic with Becky G, Chachi’s Dance to Uforia, and The Bodega are now available for streaming on Hulu. Flama also recently premiered its newest comedy series called Saving Lives on the streaming service. That program stars YouTubers Josh Levya and David Alvarez as two cocky college buddies who are supposed to be saving lives as beach lifeguards, but instead spend most of their time trying to pick up women and start fights with surfers.

“We are proud of our pioneering partnership with Hulu,” said Steven Benanav, General Manager of Flama. “From Univision joining Hulu in 2012 as the anchor network for its first Spanish offering to now working with them to launch English-language Flama originals, this newest venture is a perfect partnership. Flama amplifies the reach of digital native talent into a new premium platform and Hulu consistently improves the future of television. They just get it!”

“Flama’s innovative content brings a large audience of youthful viewers to expand Hulu’s efforts within the Latino market,” said Rodrigo Mazon, director of Content Acquisitions at Hulu. “We’re proud to continue growing our relationship with the Univision family.”

You can watch the first episode of Saving Lives on TheFlama.com or on Hulu now, with the remaining five episodes released one episode a week for the next several Thursdays. Flama’s four other original series are available in full on Hulu for your binge-watching enjoyment.
