Description: There are a lot of weird snacks out there, and two intrepid warriors are ready to risk their personal well-being in order to tell us what’s “yummy” and what’s crummy. These two brave souls are Brian Fernandes and Lindsay Pavlas, and they are the titular hosts of Brian and Lindsay Will Totally Eat That, in which they will taste unusual food items thrust upon them by an off-screen assistant.

The first question that comes to mind is “what exactly will Brian and Lindsay be eating?” The pitch video shows a few potential culinary oddities, including a  Japanese snack called Chocorooms that combines mushrooms and chocolate and a “beer bread” branded by Larry the Cable Guy. Fernandes and Pavlas will rank each of these items on a scientific scale (because this is for science, of course), and each foodstuff will need to earn a score of 65 to pass the test.

Creator Bio: Fernandes and Pavlas are both employed by Maximum Fun, an independent podcast network whose most popular programs include Judge John Hodgman, RISK!, and Throwing Shade. While Maximum Fun has more than 20 podcasts in its library, Brian and Lindsay Will Totally Eat That will be its first video series.

Best Perk: A $35 pledge earns the backer a chip clip, because it’s important to keep your Larry the Cable Guy beer bread fresh.

Why You Should Fund It: Videos that make fun of questionable products have a special place in my heart. The bizarre nature of Brian and Lindsay Will Totally Eat That‘s subject, when combined with what will surely be pithy commentary, makes me think Brian and Lindsay Will Totally Eat That will resemble the work of British YouTuber Ashens, who reviews terrible consumer products for comedy. He’s very funny, and a good person for Fernandes and Pavlas to compare to.

Maximum Fun has already established itself as a top home for comedy podcasts. The three offerings mentioned above all made this list from Rolling Stone. There’s no reason for us to think the network won’t be able to extend its appeal to video. Support this show. For science.
