‘Dying Light’ Promo Masterfully Uses Parkour, GoPro To Escape Zombies

Ampisound Productions has just made escaping from zombies feel way more realistic than it should be. The studio put together an intense, point-of-view (POV) parkour video inspired by the upcoming survival game Dying Light.

Filmed in Cambridge, UK, the Dying Light video was sponsored by Techland, the developers behind the game. The clip features what appears to be a regular citizen, scrounging for medical supplies in a dirty alleyway when he sees some undead individuals who are up-to-no-good approaching. The apocalyptic survivor then attempts to flee the infested creatures by hurtling over the rooftops, climbing pipe drains, and jumping off ledges. However, the man’s knowledge of parkour can only get him so far against semi-sentient beings with a hunger for brains.

Video game trailers and promos have always done well on YouTube in terms of views and virality. For example, the official Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare trailer garnered almost 21 million views in three months’ time. A POV, live action trailer for the same CoD game, similar in style to Ampisound’s Dyling Light promo, also raked in over 19 million views. And Supercell’s Clash of Clans mobile game has been killing it in our recent most-viewed YouTube channel charts.

And while the Dying Light parkour video isn’t an official trailer for the game, the clip is yet another testament to how much the online video masses love gaming-related content. Ampisound’s promo currently boasts over 3.4 million views as of this writing. But if it’s quality is any indication, it should get a few million more.
