You Can Dance With Tyler Oakley And Smosh In The New ‘Just Dance’ Game

On October 21st, Ubisoft released Just Dance 2015, the latest installment of its dance simulator video game franchise. In order to bring in some new fans for the sixth game in the series, the Just Dance team has turned to YouTube, enlisting Tyler Oakley and Smosh as “Dance VIPs“.

The chosen “Dance VIPs” played through specific songs from the game’s catalog. For example, as a video on the official Just Dance YouTube channel shows, Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla showed off their best moves for Iggy Azalea’s “Black Widow”. Players can track Ian and Anthony’s score and compete against it to see if they have better hand-eye coordination than the Smosh duo.

Oakley’s “Dance VIP” appearance doubles as a partnership with pop star Jessie J, whose song “Bang Bang” appears in the game. As part of the collaboration, Oakley and Jessie J interviewed each other, with the vlogger posting their answers in one of his “Q and Slay” videos. The relevant portion of the video begins 1:40 in.

Oakley and Jessie J then gave the Just Dance 2015 version of “Bang Bang” a try before inviting their fans to do the same. This isn’t Oakley’s first involvement with the Just Dance franchise; last year, he supported the release of Just Dance 2014 by playing the game in one of his videos alongside his friend Korey Kuhl.

Beyond the six main entries in the franchise, the Just Dance series has spanned 16 additional titles since its debut in 2009. The 2015 edition is available on all major consoles.
