Rooster Teeth Creates ‘Infinity Blade’ Spoof With ChAIR Entertainment

Rooster Teeth, the Austin, Texas-based production company, has another title to add to its roster of gut-busting antics. The company partnered with ChAIR Entertainment to create The iBlade Trilogy, a spoof on the Infinity Blade games.

Having catapulted onto YouTube on August 22, 2014, part one of the series introduces the viewers to Russ (played by A Simple Walk Into Mordor‘s Chris Demarais), an engineer determined to update the “medieval” efficiency and mindset of his father’s iBlade, Inc. company. He expects to continue his family’s legacy as the 197th CEO, but is passed over for a less competent (and unrelated) co-worker who’s a fantastic salesman. Soon after, Russ uncovers a threat which could bring down the long-standing company, and has to figure out how to stop it and prove his worth before the end of the day. Literally.

Shot as a live-action, the series spoofs ChAIR’s Infinity Blade iOS app games, which have been wildly successful with players and critics alike. Viewers will see distinct references to Apple’s key phrases and ideas (if the iBlade title wasn’t enough of a hint), as well as very fantastical elements like a moat around the entire office and chamber maids instead of actual indoor plumbing.

The final two parts of The iBlade Trilogy will be released over the next two Fridays. Sponsors on Rooster Teeth’s site can view the episodes early, at 2 p.m. CST, before they’re released to the online video masses at 3 p.m. CST.
