AwesomenessTV has a new mobile app, and those who download it will be privy to some exclusive content. The teen-focused network has made season two of its Side Effects series available on the app two days before the show’s web debut.
The app, available from iTunes, provides AwesomenessTV’s young fans (many of whom already watch videos on mobile devices) with an easy way to view content created by the network and its partners. “Our audience wants to consume their content whenever and wherever they like, so we are excited to provide new ways for them to engage with AwesomenessTV talent, series and channels through our new mobile app,” said AwesomenessTV CEO Brian Robbins. “As we discovered with Side Effects, AwesomenessTV fans will watch both long and short form content so this gives them the best of both worlds, long form on the app and short form on our YouTube channel.”
Side Effects follows a 16 year-old girl named Whitney whose medicine occasionally causes her to lapse into musical hallucinations. Season one was released in a single 40-minute episode, which has drawn more than 40,000 likes to date. Season two will feature a number of YouTubers among its cast. In addition to Chester See and Lia Marie Johnson (who both return from season one), guest stars include Grace Helbig and Glozell Green.
After its window on the AwesomenessTV app (where the entire season can be binged at once), season two of Side Effects will come to YouTube across four installments. The first one will arrive May 15th on the main AwesomenessTV channel.
