Revision3’s Charitable New Series Is Essentially ‘Pimp My Subaru’

Discovery‘s Revision3 network has released a branded web series that combines Subaru vehicles, charity, and crazy design ideas. It’s called Second Chance Subaru, and it features a team of engineers who renovate old cars with new, unique additions catered to their owners’ respective needs.

Second Chance Subaru features three Subaru owners who have dedicated their lives to charity. One episode centers around a nature conservationist, a second focuses on a man who transports bicycles for children with physical disabilities, and the third features a woman who leads children on camping trips. Each Subaru has more than 100,000 miles on it, and so host Patrick Norton (who also hosts several other shows on the Revision3 network) rewards his guests by giving each car a makeover that allows its owner to further his or her charitable exploits.

All three episodes are available on the Revision3’s website and YouTube channel. Fellow Discovery digital partner Philip Defranco also discussed Second Chance Subaru in a recent episode of the Philip Defranco Show. “Essentially,” he quips, “it’s awesome helping awesome helping awesome.”

For those of you who watched a lot of MTV in the mid 2000s, yes, it’s basically a charitable version of Pimp My Ride. However, instead of Jacuzzis, stereos, and shiny rims, Second Chance Subaru fills its cars with mobile base camps, tricked-out bike racks, and portable offices. The series ultimately ends up providing a treat for car lovers, some positive brand awareness for Subaru, and a reminder that if you help others, you too can earn a makeover for your years-old car.
