Stargazing Young Hollywood Inks First Look Deal With FremantleMedia

Young Hollywood has been playing the YouTube game for a long time–seven years, to be exact–and has managed to carve out a decent-sized audience. In its latest development, Young Hollywood is extending its relationship with major production company FremantleMedia through a first look deal that could bring it to new platforms.

Through the terms of the agreement, Fremantle will receive the initial option to pick up Young Hollywood’s long form content, which includes two new shows: Young Hollywood’s Greatest… and Young Hollywood Presents Evolution Of… Each of these half hour programs debuted at the MIPCOM TV market last fall and, per a press release, have already been sold to over 30 territories.

The two shows are already included in Fremantle’s content catalogue, but the new deal affords the company more rights. For Young Hollywood, a potential overseas expansion is particularly enticing. “It’s great to be extending our existing relationship with FremantleMedia International,” said Young Hollywood CEO RJ Williams. “They are a fantastic partner for the Young Hollywood brand, and their extensive international network will be invaluable in helping to introduce global audiences to our past and future catalogue of exclusive celebrity content.”

The two new shows are in line with Young Hollywood’s YouTube content, which includes features, interviews, and gossip centered around celebrity culture. Young Hollywood Greatest… runs through the channel’s top moments through a countdown format, while Evolution Of... explores the careers of the channel’s favorite stars. Each of these shows includes 26 episodes, and with Fremantle’s help, they will be coming to plenty of screens in the near future.
