Aaron Paul Is A Wonderful Storyteller In Branded Video For Bushmills

Breaking Bad may be over, but Aaron Paul is still seizing the spotlight. The actor who portrayed Jesse Pinkman continues to make his mark on the Internet thanks to a wonderful video on the official channel of Bushmill’s Irish Whiskey where he tells the (possibly fictional) story of a prank gone wrong.

A whiskey in his hand, Paul recaptures the time when he and a friend spread meteorites and dry ice in their yard to prank a third friend. Things get out of hand once the local news media shows, believing the meteor strike to be real. As Paul weaves his tale, hand drawn animation provides a visual aid.

This is not Paul’s first dance with YouTube. He previously took to Nerdist, where he emulated Jesse Pinkman by saying the word “bitch” a lot. That video has scored more than 420,000 views to date, and the Bushmill’s spot has seen six-digit exposure as well, mostly as a pre-roll ad.

The video is part of Bushmill’s ‘Since Way Back‘ program, which has nebulous qualifiers but seems to take the past as its focus. Previous participants include Chromeo, who told the story of his time as a parks keeper, and Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, who played a guitar made of Bushmill’s barrels.

Paul’s story is sensible as an ad for whiskey. With Paul and his friend’s memories serving as the only credible sources, there’s no way to tell what’s real and what’s nothing more than drunken embellishment (Spoiler alert: It’s probably all fake.) It’s an easily relatable branded video, and it’s a fun watch to boot.
