Tony Valenzuela is an expert in the art of the scare. The BlackBoxTV creator has used his YouTube channel for all manner of horror videos, including a slew of dark pranks. One of the channel’s most popular series is Evil Good Times, where ordinary people are subjected to sketchy cabs, killer photo booths, and creepy auditions for our general amusement.
At Vidcon, however, BlackBox took its practical joking to a level of meta by introducing well-known YouTube creators to a psychotic fan.
Valenzuela and company teamed up with PrankVsPrank for eight separate renditions of the same stunt. Prominent YouTubers were asked up to a hotel room for an interview, where they were met by a crazy fan played by actress Julia Gallagher. As Tony V., Jesse, Jeana, and Stefan Glidden (who produces many of the Evil Good Times pranks) fed her lines via an ear piece from the control room set up next door, Gallagher attempted to solicit each of her ‘guests’ before a kidnapped guest or taser threat revealed her true intentions.

Two of these renditions have been released. On the PrankVsPrank channel, fellow prankster VitalyzdTv serves as the victim; meanwhile, on BlackBox, it is Sam Pepper‘s friend Mazzi Maz who provides an epic freakout. BlackBox has been kind enough to share with us a third, unreleased rendition, starring Shira Lazar. Shira figures out what’s going on halfway through the interview, but there that doesn’t spoil any of the action until that point. Check it out:
“I love doing scare pranks because taking people and putting them in extraordinary situations brings out the most AMAZING moments,” said Valenzuela.
BlackBox and PrankVsPrank are still deciding whether to show the other five renditions, but if they match the quality of the versions that have been released, we can’t wait to watch. In fact, the Vidcon prank could form the backbone of a fantastic series. With both collaborations and prank shows taking off on YouTube, the space needs its own YouTube celebrity-oriented version of Punk’d.
