A new partnership will help Machinima further its plan to gain a larger presence in the traditional film industry. The top multi-channel network has partnered with the Bandito Brothers studio and Paramount Insurge Pictures for Chop Shop, an action-packed web series set to debut in early 2014.

Chop Shop will hit every item in the Machinima demographic checklist. Action-packed heist and chase sequences? Check. Fast-paced directing from Elliot Lester, who is best known for helming a Jason Statham film? Check. A video game feel produced by creators Josh Baizer and Marshall Johnson, who also co-wrote the upcoming second season of Mortal Kombat: Legacy? Check. It’s a web series tailor made for young male tastemakers.

“Machinima is a true leader in the next generation of video entertainment, and we are thrilled to partner with them on Chop Shop”, said Amy Powell, President of Insurge Pictures . “Our enormously talented creative team has come up with an exciting new digital series which thanks to Machinima’s incredible reach, will be available across a wide variety of platforms for the audience to sit back and enjoy wherever they may be.”

Bandito Brothers is best known for producing Act of Valor, a modestly war movie that hit theaters early last year. The studio is the latest big screen team to join up with Machinima; many of the network’s recent projects reinforce its plan to expand to feature films in the near future. Not only will Chop Shop help Machinima on its journey, but it will also be a big hit among the boys.
