Glozell Tries To Be ‘Ms. Right’ In First Episode Of New Web Series

There’s a new hard-luck romantic in the web series world, and all he wants is to find Ms. Right.

DeRay Davis, best known for his roles in Jumping The Broom and 21 Jump Street (the guy must really like the word ‘jump’), plays Ms. Right‘s self-titled protagonist, a beleaguered serial dater whose wayward efforts to find a soulmate are turned into comedy for our personal enjoyment. In the first episode, he finds himself across the dinner table from GloZell Green, who plays a kooky spaz known only as “Ms. Eccentric”.

Ms. Right is, in the end, a canvas on which its talented actors can show off their chops. For many of the episode’s viewers, GloZell is the main attraction, and she doesn’t disappoint by acting out in her usual loud, brazen, and green manner. She behaves just the way you would expect a woman who wears electric lime-colored lipstick on a date to behave.

Ms. Right‘s home is Alright TV, a new YouTube destination focused on providing “faith friendly content viewing.” The first episode, which is already over 50,000 views, is the channel’s most popular release to date. It also has a gender-swapped companion, Mr. Right, which also released a recent debut episode (starring Taryn Southern).

The creators of Ms. Right are Frank and Lynn Chindamo, whose names regular readers will recognize from First Drafts, their exhaustive exploration of the early days of YouTube’s biggest stars. In those write-ups, the husband and wife pair display a credible amount of web series acumen. Expect Ms. Right to be optimized to make it as appealing as possible for an online audience.
