We haven’t heard much from Milo Ventimiglia, the star of Heroes, since the show that made his career went off the air two years ago. Milo is the star of an upcoming web series, called Chosen, that will debut on the highly-cinematic Crackle channel in early 2013.
Chosen stars Ventimiglia as a suburban husband and father who is assigned a deadly mission, seemingly at random. He then goes on a wild action-packed thrill ride all while standing around with the dumbfounded look on his face that he often showed during Heroes as well. If I had to place it just from the trailer, I’d say that Chosen seems to be one part Taken (right down the titular use of the past participle), one part A History of Violence, and one part Cybergeddon (given the web aspect of it). Check out the dubstep-filled trailer for yourself and see what you think.
The show will premiere next January on Crackle and will run for six half-hour episodes. Crackle, for the uninitiated, is a channel specializing in long form web series and specials. It has received over 53 million views and has worked with action stars in the past, including Vin Diesel. The channel is looking for another big series to replace Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, Jerry Seinfeld’s web endeavor (which got a large amount of coverage for its finale with disgraced comedian Michael Richards). Perhaps Peter Petrelli can discover the right powers to fit that need, but we’ll have to wait until the new year to find out.
