Since it was founded in 2007, Yahoo‘s omg! has become not only a go-to source for pop culture news, but also a launching point for several online video series, including the omg! NOW daily news show and a pop culture-oriented spinoff of Yahoo’s popular Who Knew? series. Now, one of the executives who oversaw the growth of omg! is moving on to another celebrity-focused network. It was announced last week that Liz Coughlin, formerly the Head of Yahoo TV and omg!, will move over to Young Hollywood, where she will serve as SVP of Business Operations.
Young Hollywood is a site dedicated to video correspondence with big celebrity names in film, TV, music, and sports. They launched a YouTube channel earlier this year, and it has become a success; the channel has posted a whopping 1,726 videos, which have combined to draw over 102 million viewers, and has spawned recurring features regarding YouTube stars, movie trailers, and Olympians.

As Young Hollywood’s SVP, Coughlin should bring the pop culture expertise she gained while running omg! to the burgeoning network. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on Young Hollywood in the coming months to see the kind of new territory towards which its new leadership will take it.
