TurBacon is the New TurDucken, Epic Meal Time Makes Food Porn

It’s a bird in a bird in a bird in a bird in a bird in a pig. More specifically, it’s a quail, in a Cornish hen, in a chicken, in a duck, in a turkey, in a pig, all layered, deboned, held together with veal and pork sausage meat, filled with bacon croissant stuffing, lathered in a Dr. Pepper butter glaze, and covered in bacon strips.

It’s baked, then smoked, then garnished with Wendy’s Baconators, then eaten. All in all its ingredients total 79,046 calories and 6,892 grams of fat, enough food energy to sustain a six foot tall, 200 pound male for over a month.

It’s the TurBacon. It looks both delicious and nauseating. And it’s created by three Canadian glutton connoisseurs known as EpicMealTime.

Harley Morenstein, Alex Perrault, and Sterling Toth began posting videos on the EpicMealTime YouTube Channel just over a month ago. They debuted with The Worst Pizza Ever, a kind of stoner food on steroid concoction of things greasy and fried, created more for shock than consumption. They followed it up with a poutine-filled, maple syrup slathered Canadian sandwich food orgy, the Death of the Double Down, and a hot girl eating a meat log (because the internet loves ladies eating fatty foods). In less than six weeks, each installment’s received six digit views, and counting.

The videos aren’t for the faint of stomach and it’s easy to write them off as a kind of Eli Roth flick for foodies. But in a recent interview, Morenstein addressed the haters and vegetarians: “I believe these people that say ‘it’s disgusting’ deep down inside are eating vicariously through us.”

epic-meal-time-turbaconThe best part about EpicMealTime is how unapologetic its participants are about their gastronomical monstrosities. Shows like Man vs. Food at least hint at an underlying epicurean tone, but EpicMealTime shows no deference for food or food culture. From Morenstein’s drill sergeant rendition of the day’s ingredients to the Carmina Burana inspired musical effects, this is pure, unadulterated, beautifully shot, artery-clogging food porn at its finest.

Tune in every Tuesday to catch a new EpicMealTime video and salivate, or vomit, or both.
