Comic-Con San DiegoComic-Con week is upon us and this year, perhaps more than ever, the web series world is heading to San Diego to geek out amongst the world’s finest. Sure, every major studio and comic book company is heading down to hock their wares, everything from fall TV series to loosely-related comic book and sci-fi blockbusters. But without all those generous marketing budgets are some web content gems that are making the trip and dishing the latest on their series. Who can forget last year’s standing ovation at Joss Whedon’s Dr. Horrible panel?

The interwebs are buzzing with all kinds of schedules, must-sees and hyped-up fanboy guides. There’s even a SyFy iPhone app which might be worth downloading. At Tubefilter, we’ll be sending down a small army into the belly of beast to report the gushy details and leaks from everything web series at Con. To help prepare, we’ve whipped up a list for all web series junkies to tag along or live vicariously.

Thursday, July 23:

Felicia Day and Kim Evey at Comic-Con11:00-1:00 PM: Autograph Session: The Guild – full cast of The Guild will be at their own booth this year (#4417) signing autographs and selling Season 1 and Season 2 DVDs, t-shirts from Jinx.com (including brand new designs) and a variety of cast photos that you can get signed. 3:30-4:30 PM: Digital Comics Now!— Digital comics are happening right now. Not tomorrow, but right now. Join a panel of the best and brightest in the new wave of digital comics in a wide-ranging discussion of everything from comics on the iPhone to new digital comic platforms, motion comics, webcomics, and day-and-date-releases. Big announcements will be made! Panelists include Michael Murphey (CEO iVerse), David Steinberger (CEO of comiXology), Rantz Hosely (CEO LongBox), Chris Folino (VP, Catastrophic Comics), and Chip Mosher (marketing director, BOOM! 8:00-10:00 PM: Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog The California Browncoats host a screening of the original three acts, followed immediately by Commentary! The Musical. See why Joss Whedon’s (Dollhouse, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) first foray into webisodic “television” was the talk of the town with critics and fans alike in 2008. Be prepared for a night of singing and surprises hosted by the fans who know what you like best. Dr. Horrible stars Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), Nathan Fillion (Castle, Firefly), and Felicia Day (The Guild) and is written by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon (Dollhouse), Zack Whedon (Fringe), and Maurissa Tancharoen (Dollhouse). Friday, July 24:

10:30-11:30 AM: Meet The Guild Come chat with the creators and performers from the hit online video series The Guild. Felicia Day (Codex), Vincent Caso (Bladezz), Jeff Lewis (Vork), Amy Okuda (Tinkerballa), Sandeep Parikh (Zaboo), and Robin Thorsen (Clara) talk about the series and answer questions from the audience. 5:15-6:00 PM: Joss Whedon— After the Dollhouse presentation, stick around for 45 minutes of information and Q&A with Joss Whedon about his upcoming Dark Horse Comics projects! Ballroom 20

5:30-6:30 PM: Marvel Digital Comics…and Beyond!— Since its groundbreaking November 2007 debut, Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited has been all the Internet rage! It’s the greatest collection of Marvel comics ever assembled online and it’s only getting better. Featuring over 6,000 titles with newly digitized comics added every weekday, the site now features its own line of digital-first exclusive comics. Members of the Marvel Digital Media Group will tell you all about the state of Marvel digital comics, casual games, original streaming video and the future of Marvel’s ever-growing digital endeavors. Fear Clinic6:30-7:30 PM: FEAR Clinic (A FEARnet Original Production)— Don’t miss this panel discussion with actor Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street), director Robert Hall (Laid to Rest), and guest moderator Clive Barker. In this series, Dr. Andover (Englund) seeks to cure his patients’ deepest fears with a device that allows them to confront their fear head-on. His extreme method is so effective, it has a 100 percent success rate, at least for all those who live through it. 7:15-9:15 PM: The Totally Rad Show Live!— Hosts Alex Albrecht (Diggnation), Dan Trachtenberg, and Jeff Cannata bring their Webby and Podcast Award-winning geek culture show back to Comic-Con for a live performance. Join the guys for an explosion of movie, video game, TV, and comic book news and reviews, and see what makes this Revision3 show such an Internet phenomenon. Room 7AB

9:00-11:30 PM: Angel of Death Premiere Screening and Q&A Session— Comic book superstar Ed Brubaker (Captain America), actress and stuntwoman Zoë Bell (Death Proof), actors Doug Jones (Quarantine), and Ted Raimi (Spider-Man 3), director Paul Etheredge (Buried Alive), and producer John Norris appear for a panel and Q&A session, followed by an exclusive screening of the thrilling uncut feature-length version of the film marking the DVD release of the groundbreaking digital online series! Saturday, July 25:

(Throughout the day): The CabonautsStar Trek’s Nichelle Nichols, Hayden Black and other stars of the upcoming DailyMotion sci-fi musical comedy web series The Cabonauts will be signing autographs at the Wizzard Media booth (#2643). UPDATE: Nichelle Nichols will be signing Fri & Sat: 10:00 AM -1:00 PM  and 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM, as well as Sun 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. The team will also be premiering the trailer at the Masquerade Ball on Saturday night.  (See: Star Trek’s Nichelle Nichols to Star in ‘The Cabonauts’)

12:25–12:45 PM: The Junior League of Superheroes—On the morning of their initial Junior League of Superheroes trial mission, our six not-quite heroes should be preparing for their first undertaking as a team. Instead, Jen is having second thoughts, Ned can’t decide what to wear, Rob believes he’s Ben Affleck, and Mark is nowhere to be found. Participating panelists include Brian Leahy (Earthship), Justin Fair (Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2), Teresa Reilly (The Best Laid Plans), Julie Gearheard (Redbelt), and Justin Davidson. 7:30-8:30 PM: Atom.com: World Premiere of Legend of Neil, Season 2— Atom.com has teamed up with Sandeep Parikh (The Guild) for a second season of the popular web series. See the first public screening of episodes from the series and stay for a discussion with Sandeep, series star Tony Janning, and everyone’s favorite fairy Felicia Day (The Guild)! ADDED: The Gloomers, the team behind the animated series of the same name, will be unveiling a new weekly comic strip this week at Comic-Con.
