'Safety Geeks' Kicks Off on KoldCast TV, Sets Record for VFX Shots

Safety Geeks: SVIDave and Tom’s much anticipated green screen comedy web series, Safety Geeks: SVI, premiered on KoldCast TV today, after the trailer had been garnering attention in web television circles.

The comedy duo behind the series, Dave Beeler and Tom Konkle, have racked up an impressive 12 million combined views on their past projects, including the Brit-comedy series Invention with Brian Forbes which launched last December.

Safety Geeks tracks an elite force of safety experts; the P.O.S.H. (Professional Occupational Safety Hazard) team as they bumble their way through a series of gruesome accident investigations in the vain attempt to make the world safer.

“What’s the P.O.S.H. team like?,” poses Konkle, “Imagine Frank Drebin (Naked Gun) and Inspector Clouseau (Pink Panther Films) working together to solve a crime. Despite their well-intentioned efforts, and the resulting trauma that results, they always inadvertently solve the crime. That’s the P.O.S.H. team.”

According to press materials out on the show, the series features more than 1,000 visual effect shots, which apparently sets the record for web series, and is even more than the first three Star Wars movies combined. We haven’t independently verified this, but we trust there are some well intentioned Star Wars fans out there that would run an audit on this claim.

The series stars Beeler and Konkle along with Brittney Powell, Mary Cseh, Benton Jennings, Ransford Doherty and Mark Teich. Ten episodes of season 1 will be released every other Monday, with the first two already out today.
