The Streamy Awards Official Nominees!

At long last, we’re proud to announce the official nominees selected by the International Academy of Web Television to honor artistic excellence and innovation in an open, democratized audiovisual medium which serves both consumers and producers more effectively than its predecessors.

The Streamy Awards, co-hosted by Tilzy.TV, NewTeeVee, and Tubefilter, are designed to properly acknowledge the exceptional talents exhibited through web television.  The Streamy Awards Ceremony – presented by Kodak® and sponsored by Episodic, Microsoft® Zune®, DailyMotion, Sony® Creative Software, Inc., and Blip.tv – will take place on Saturday, March 28th at 7:30 PM.

Chosen by the IAWTV, winners in 15 categories will be presented with awards before a live audience at the Wadsworth Theatre in Los Angeles and streamed online for audiences around the world.

Early next week, along with an announcement of the Audience Choice Awards finalists, we’ll debut a state-of-the-art web television viewing and voting experience at the brand-new Streamys.org, powered by our friends at Episodic.

Awards in craft categories will be presented at a special ceremony on Thursday, March 26th, excerpts from which will be integrated into the live show.

Members of the International Academy of Web Television reviewed episodic Web television shows submitted by the public through a free and open system from December 18, 2008 to January 23, 2009. The most nominated web series in each category was automatically selected as a finalist.  Over 100,000 public submissions were received.
Ten of the submitted series will go head-to-head starting next week to compete for the coveted Audience Choice Award.
We’ve been honored to watch this medium develop and are truly proud of the outstanding shows nominated for Streamy Awards. They showcase the quality of production across the rapidly growing industry.
