'House Arrest With Andy Dick' Traps You, Never Lets You Leave

Andy DickLooks like professional eccentric Andy Dick has found a new way to be uncomfortably funny in his new web talk show, House Arrest With Andy Dick, which premiered on Atom.com this week.

Part of Atom’s aggressive 2009 slate, the comedy series, created by Dick, stars himself under house arrest for drug-related charges – complete with the ankle bracelet. Ever the showman, he starts a talk show out of what looks like the living room, complete with a house band and a full production crew (the “backstage”, however, consists of a set of black curtains by the window that the guests have to kind of hide behind), and proceeds to invite a handful of his local celebrity buddies over to joke around. Needless to say, awkwardly hilarious timing, early musical sendoffs, and Dick’s trademark it’s-all-about-me attitude are here in plentiful amounts – and it’s awesome.

House Arrest With Andy Dick is only running for five episodes, each one weighing in at about five minutes each, so catch it while you can. The initial two episodes feature Cheaters host Joey Greco, (you might remember him as the one who got stabbed on TV), and Mo Collins of MadTV. The March 11th episode added the all-knowing Dr. Drew Pinsky of Loveline and Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.

The last two episodes come out on Atom on March 12th and 13th, one of them starring Greg Grunberg of Heroes and the other starring Jennifer Coolidge, best known as Stifler’s Mom from American Pie . If you’ve ever wanted to see a handful of middle-tier celebrities get embarrassed on a talk show hosted in Andy Dick’s loft, there’s no better time than right now.
