Streamy Awards: Academy of Web Television Announced

Streamy AwardsUpdates on the Streamy Awards! It’s March and the super duper fantastic live awards show is fast approaching. Today we’re announcing the list of inaugural members of the International Academy of Web Television, the body that will ultimately be voting on the finalists and winners of the Streamys. Well, that’s except for the Audience Choice Award which of course will be open to the public voting starting next week.

The idea behind the Academy is that we feel the best way to recognize the best in web television is from a body of peers combined with the support of the general public. So to that end, the final nominees in each of the 25 award categories are chosen by Academy members with one automatic finalist in each one based on the top submitted entry during the public nominations period. It’s a hybrid approach.International Academy of Web Television

Who’s in this Academy? It’s a diverse mix of web series creators, actors, agents, composers, directors, journalists, producers, executives, technology innovators and writers who actively participate in and support the web television and digital entertainment industries.
