Want to Get Married on MySpace?

Are you one half of an engaged couple? Is your relationship reflective of Scene Kid Love? Do you and your fiancee share an admiration for Tila Tequila and an affinity for bad reality television? If you answered yes to all of the above, those wedding bells in your future might come courtesy of EndemolMySpace, and a few hundred thousand strangers that have taken the courtesy of planning and crashing your big day.

The producer of “premium entertainment for the world’s major broadcasters” has teamed up with the “world’s premiere social network” and announced Get Married on Myspace, a 13-part interactive web series in which one lucky couple will “receive the wedding of their dreams in exchange for letting the MySpace community plan and experience” their wedding first hand. Bridezillas need not apply.

Starting in March, interested couples can submit entry videos to the series’ official profile page (located somewhere on the shiny new MySpace Video Channel, formerly dubbed MySpace TV). MySpacers will then vote on the finalists to cast the bride and groom. Once the (I’m guessing) 19-or-so-year-old, at least one-half musician, tattooed couple is selected, MySpace users will vote on at least two key wedding details per week over the course of the next three months leading up to the ceremony, while given the opportunity to overindulge in said couple’s life trough a selection of behind-the-scenes video footage and vlogs.

If the couple is anything like Hilton Suicide and Sceney Sceneable, the series should be watchable. Regardless, considering what ridiculous reality programming has made it to TV, I’m surprised this hasn’t already been done.
