Victorious Heads To Hollywood With ‘X-Men Movies App’ Created Alongside 20th Century Fox

After launching in the social influencer realm and transitioning into digital publishing, app startup Victorious has officially landed in Hollywood.

The company launched today an X-Men Movies App aimed at superfans of the franchise and created in collaboration with 20th Century Fox. The app’s debut coincides with the forthcoming X-Men: Apocalypse film, which will premiere in May.

“From bloggers to artists to cosplayers,” Victorious said, the app will showcase new X-Men-related content every Friday; enable users to interact with GIFs, videos, images, and DMs; and host exclusive giveaways. “Our expertise in growing engagement within fan communities combined with the diversity of the X-Men movies world will make this app a go-to-destination for superfans,” said Victorious co-founder and CEO Sam Rogoway in a statement.

Victorious — which was also co-founded by YouTube’s former global head of creator development and management, Bing Chen — currently operates apps for popular creators like Ryan Higa, Lilly Singh, Nash Grier, and AwesomenessTV. And last month, the company expanded beyond its online video roots with an app for fanfiction empress Anna Todd.

To celebrate the X-Men Movies App release, 20th Century Fox is launching a contest to find the 100 biggest X-Men superfans. Entrants must upload a clip to the app showcasing their own “mutant powers”, and five grand prize winners will receive an early screening of X-Men: Apocalypse.
